Cooking, Experiments, and Highland Dancing

This post is part of a weekly series, Oatmeal Toppings, featuring a few of the best healthy living posts on OatmealinmyBowl.com.

Here are some of the best articles I have stumbled upon, found on Pinterest, read on Facebook, retweeted on @OatmealBowl, and read in RSS subscriptions this week.

  • Basic Biscuits – The name may be basic, but Krissy has done an outstanding job making these Oh So Delicious! Please give me some jam for my biscuits!
  • Spicy Lemon Pasta – Cindy has totally combined 3 of my loves. Spicy-Lemon-Pasta. Amen!
  • Counting Down the Days – Not only does Bobbie have an exciting upcoming trip coming up (jealous), but she has also had 7 new clients signed up for personal training… that she does from home. Dig through her posts to find the picture of her awesome home gym.
  • Brussels Sprouts with Pancetta – Brussels sprouts here, brussels sprouts there. I love it! And Brandy has hit the spot with the addition of pancetta. And the pics easily draw you in. *drool*
  • Hippie Cookies – Not your typical cookie ingredients but a whole lotta goodness! It’s split personalities of a little carrot cake, a little oatmeal raisin… ya, its got something good going on. And you’re right Gina, I couldn’t think what else ‘coconut’. Well except for maybe mochi!
  • Small Victory – Lori just found victory in her great Detox Experiment of 2012. She dropped the sugar, the alcohol, the dairy and the Chai latte (caffeine). But found a decaf soy sugar free vanilla latte (say that 10 times fast) was pretty good.
  • A *cuss* storm – The Climbing Chef, a gluten-free cook, shows off an amazing cauliflower gratin. The aztec cookies look yummy, too! Just hope she starts feeling much better after receiving a vicious spider bite.
  • Eleventy Eleven – Susan tries out a meme. And I discover she knows how to Highland Dance. Way cool. I think she should make a video of her Highland dancing to prove it. ;) BTW, Susan… Vespas are cool. I want one, too.
  • Mixed Berry Oats - Courtney quickly drew me in with this delicious bowl of oatmeal. She even used the awesome Coach’s Oats. And with the addition of a nice, hot cup of coffee. Oh ya, she’s gotta it going on.

Super Bowl Series: Healthy Artichoke Dip!

If you have trouble viewing: http://youtu.be/1enGFHclpZI

Nicole Culver from Making Good Choices and Jill Hanner  from YouTube GoBoSpeaks take to making a “healthy” artichoke dip for your Super Bowl party. And yay! The recipe calls for Chobani {my fave}. The two together… a total crack up. Watch the duo as they are coming out with a few more SuperBowl video recipes.

BTW, the recipe is Vegetarian and Gluten-free!

Upcoming This Week: What’s in your Packed Lunch?

I have gotten out of the loop with packing lunches. So next week I am doing a “What’s in your packed lunch today?”series. Are you in? Would love for you to share a picture on our Oatmeal Bowl Facebook page of what’s in your brown bag or designer lunch bag!
