I could be wrong, but I don’t think the Abs Diet for Women calls for a McD’s Shamrock Shake. Ever complain about wanting to drop body fat but find yourself not dropping down the fat in your diet?
BTW, healthy (unsaturated) fat is good. I don’t want to drop it completely, but I do need to eye my proportions.
Dinner

Dinner last night: The Gouda Mac n Cheese (from Fresh & Easy) was the family’s side dish. I fell for it (not low fat cheese). But it was good. However, I did retain portion control.
Angus burger w/ pepper jack cheese (not low-fat cheese, again) & avocado (yay for unsaturated healthy fat). Which I de-bunned part way through. Grapes.
OH the Brussels Sprouts! I am always finding new ways to dress them up. Last night was Evoo & Garlic Salt. So freakin’ delish! I clearly did not make enough of them.
Roasted Brussels: Cut in half, massage with evoo (extra virgin olive oil), lay on foil lined tray (for easy clean-up), sprinkle with garlic salt, bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
McD’s Shamrock Shake

These are so reminiscent from my younger years. In fact, I don’t think I have had one since I was 12. I had to get one during my kid’s night out for dessert. But you know what… as good as it was, I only drank about an 1/4th of it. And threw out the rest. Do you ever do this? Eat a few nibbles or drink a few sips just to cure the sweet tooth craving, then throw the rest out? Probably an expensive habit. LOL. But my hips with thank me for it later.
Breakfast

3 Abs Diet Powerfood {Coach’s Oats, PB, and Low-Fat Cottage Cheese}. This combination, while absolutely unappetizing looking is really, really good. Don’t knock it until you try it!
I tweeted a pic of it this morning with the caption:

Lunch

Snack was low-fat string cheese. But lunch was a Thai shrimp salad with avocado, rice noodles, mango, walnuts, and shrimp. So good! But I couldn’t finish the whole thing.
The Abs Diet Powerfoods

Here are the 12 powerfoods of the Abs Diet for Women. The sample menu plan actually incorporates Low-Fat ice cream (like Skinny Cow, yum). But not Shamrock Shakes. Sorry McD’s, but I will need to put you aside for now if I want flat abs by summer.
So what is a healthy ratio of unsaturated fat? According to Livestrong, “Consume about 20 to 30 percent of the total calories from fat. You can increase or decrease the amount of fat based on activity levels and body fat.”
What is a food that is reminiscent of your childhood? Do you find it hard to cut down the daily portions of saturated fat in your diet?

Is it weird I’ve never had a milkshake of any kind? I’ve had sips of other people’s shakes but that’s it.
Childhood food? Trix.
According to that diet I should have rockin abs. Obviously I’m going wrong somewhere!
Really? Ya… that’s kind of odd.
Trix. Good stuff too. I like the way it changes the color of the milk.
Haha. ya, i am waiting for the weight to fall off on me… but the darn ‘fat’ is not always the easiest to cut in an SAD (standard american diet).
When it comes to ice cream, I NEVER eat a few bites and throw it out. I eat the whole thing. Plus a few bites of my hubby’s. Mmmm…ice cream
I have done that with other sweets though!
And now I want a Shamrock Shake. Guess I know where I’ll be asking the hubby to take me this weekend!

haha! Well we also have the small scoop thing going on at home. One small scoop – especially chocolate topped with walnuts. nom nom.
Enjoy your Shamrock Shake. Limited time.
I used to love McD’s shakes (and their fries.) My kids get them very occasionally now and it only takes a couple of bites before I’m wondering why I ate any.
I can’t give up my cheese though. I have to make a concerted effort to eat smaller portions of it.

My kids get McD’s very seldom, too. Actually my daughter wanted to spend her coldstone creamery cert, but they the store by us went out of biz. So off to McDs we went.
While I don’t eat there, the Iced Coffee is pretty good.
I have the Ab Diet Cookbook, I love all the food it recommends. The problem with the Ab Diet and any other diet is I tend to over eat, even the healthy stuff!! I love Coaches Oats! I add peanut butter and greek yogurt to it with some fresh berries!

Haha! Right? I did keep track of the calories in the beginning so I could eye an adequate portion. Because I would have the same problem if I didn’t! I am addicted to oatmeal and cottage cheese right now. Doesn’t look pretty but sure taste awesome!
