Does a 2-month road trip to some of the finest health & fitness & food conferences sound good? I think we should all caravan in a big camper. Now, can we find sponsor(s) to support us crazy kids?

Health, Fitness and Food Conferences
There are three conferences to attend in this two month time span at the beginning of summer. In order of time:
- Las Vegas for a two night stay. Just cuz.
- May 4-6: The 1st Annual Blend Retreat sponsored by Chobani and hosted by Janetha, Katie, and Lindsay. Boulder, CO.
- June 8-9: 2012 BlogHer Food Conference. Seattle, WA.
- June 22-24: 2012 Fitness & Health Bloggers Conference. Denver, CO.
BTW, The 2012 Fitness & Health Bloggers Conference is offering 40 scholarships to FitFluential members provided by Refuel With Chocolate Milk. The scholarship covers the entire $250 registration fee and the application period is open now! More info: click here.
I am seriously putting this road trip into consideration. Now how to make it happen…
Dinner

Mac tried out a new 5-star tuna casserole recipe. It was yummy. He despises veggies. But it has broccoli in it. He’s trying.
But as you can see, this is clearly not a weight training food group.
Workout
Last night, after dinner, this Best Circuit Workout to Tone it Up! offered the perfect amount of cardio!
Then it was on to the Abs of Steel workout, as I like to call it. And am really enjoying a strong core. I have learned a strong core is essential to building a strong body. And I got my #plankaday done, too.
That wasn’t all. While watching Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives I got in a few flyes, curls, and presses with the dumbbells. My arms are feeling sore. It feels so good. Ya, such a sadist! One because I like the burn from working out and two because I am watching in envy as people eat this delicious looking high caloric food. haha.
What’s up with all the working out for the night? I think it’s because I only have like 2 weeks left of Body for Life and I want to end it with a bang!
Protein Shake
My favorite part after a workout.

Whipping up a delicious smoothie. I have never liked fruit + chocolate together. But the Chocolate Vega taste wonderful with just about anything!
Blueberry Spinach Chocolate Protein Shake
- 1 frozen banana
- handful of blueberries
- handful of spinach, stems and all
- 1/2 cup of almond mylk
- 1 scoop chocolate Vega protein powder
- filtered water, as needed
Mix first 5 ingredients in blender. Add water until desired consistency is reached. Enjoy.
Now if I could learn to take delicious pictures of smoothies. Too bad daylight doesn’t exist at night. haha.
Question to you
Have any cool conference to attend this summer? If you are a FitFluential member, are you going to apply for the Fitness & Health Bloggers Conference {heck ya!?}

AWESOME idea!! I’m sure J and K would be down for offering some sort of discount on tickets! Let’s talk!
Let me score more details on this potential trip and I will hit ya up!

I’m so excited about BLEND too – it’s going to be so much fun!! I went to FoodBlogSouth early this year (January), but other than BLEND don’t have any others on my schedule. I need someone to pay me to go to these.

haha. right?! Least many of them have blogger rates. I have not signed up for BLEND yet because my daughter’s bday is the same weekend. However, I am thinking about taking her. I think she would have a blast!
If I do this road trip… then I am going to need to mark other destinations to sight see. Would be fun!

Love the road trip idea!
I want to apply for the scholarship – but my travel budget to actually get to the conference has been whittled away by my trip to NOLA, and an upcoming trip to Chicago!

When I was younger, I was fortunate that my parents did a lot of road trips. I’ve seen some great places in Oregon, California, New Mexico, and Arizona.
Chicago is a great place. You’ll have a great time!

Thanks! its the only time I get to work out. And least an upper body workout is easy to do while watching tv.

Oh my gosh…I totally want to hit the last conference with you! If I’m not pregnant, I likely will go!
Deal! Well… pregnancy is kinda cool, too.

Funny because I’ve been itching for a road trip lately. I’ll meet you in Vegas! I’ll be there the last weekend in April
All the conferences you mentioned sound super fun. I’m sticking my little toe into the whole blogging conference world by going to bloggy bootcamp in Philadelphia in May. Close by, not too expensive. I thought about BlogHer since it will be in NYC but it just scared me!

Didn’t you just back from a vaca on the West Coast???
How fun! I heard bloggy bootcamp is a lot of fun! Why did BlogHer scare you? I want to go to FoodBuzz conference this year. I think its in November… Will need to look into that one, too.

errr, what do you mean??
Yes, just a quick girls trip to Vegas with my sister and to see Bon Jovi. Ha! I think BlogHer scared me because it was such a big conference. I’m so new to this whole world that I thought that it would be overwhelming and I would find myself sitting the corner somewhere.
