Wishing Weekends Lasted Longer

Why is it the lazy days always seem to go by quicker than the work days? As I write this, I realize there is only a few lazy hours left and so much I still want to do!

Did you all have a great St. Patty’s Day weekend?

Mac and I did a bunch this weekend. I really wish it didn’t have to end!

  • Friday we tried out a new restaurant in our neighborhood. It was super good! And we are going back for Taco Tuesday.
  • Then we went to the hectic mall and I bought me a new pair of Nike Free TR Fit 2 bright pink training shoes because I am going back to CrossFit soon. Originally, I was out to score the Reebok Nano’s but really liked the feel of the Nike’s better. Now I don’t have to sling 2 different pairs of shoes in my gym bag. This pair will now take care of the days I do light cardio + weight train.

  • Made it to the gym and completed a killer bicep and tricep workout. My arms still hurt two days later! I love these plans available on BodyBuilding.com!
  • Saturday I ate a simple but delicious breakfast and slowed down to read my new issue of Cooking Light (lots of yummy recipes in this one)
  • We partied with our friends at The Goat Tavern Dive Bar. I learned what an Irish Car Bomb is and had too many. But still managed to make it to my friend’s birthday party afterwards.
  • I created a new Workout Music Page to help you find the right tunes for your rhythm. See any rhythms I need to add?

  • Completed a few blog posts
  • and Cooked up a week’s worth of Cutting Meals {protein + veggie} – chicken sliders, turkey breasts, roasted broccoli and carrots, Kashi cereal + almond milk, protein powder, dried cranberries, cutie mandarins, and Vega chocolate protein powder.

This Week’s Workout

Monday: Cardio/Back Exercises
Tuesday: Legs/Abs
Wednesday: Crossfit {overhead squats}
Thursday: Biceps/Triceps/Abs
Friday: Cardio/Abs
Saturday: Chest/Shoulders
Sunday: Day off

Now I am off to work and get my lunch workout in at the gym!

Question of the Day

How do you make sure to eat healthy with a hectic schedule?

  2. Sounds like busy, but fun weekend!! I had a similar one — lots of work on the computer, but while sitting on the patio and enjoying the weather as much as possible! I need to get back to prepping meals like you did on Sunday nights, it helps set up the rest of the week so much better.

    • i wish we had sun this weekend! but we haven’t had rain in ages. so its much needed.
I had to prep the meals for me this time. Because I eat essentially the same thing from our cafeteria, but pay way too much for it. My problem, I kept snagging the roasted veggies as I was packing them. haha. Gonna need to cook some more veggies mid-week. ;)

  3. Yes ah ha!! I have a pair of hot pink nike free’s as well. Have you tried them out much yet? They’re pretty wicked. I only use mine for CrossFit and I feel like I want to buy a backup, but unfortunately I bought mine (it was a “last season” model) on Ebay and thus nowhere to be found eeeeever agaaain. :( lol

    • I’m so glad they are ‘wicked’. Trying them out for real on Wednesday. I bought mine at Foot Locker. And when I look online (link above) I cannot find the hot pink ones. They are super comfy. Can’t wait to try them out. Thanks for letting me know I got a good pair.

  4. Man you’ve been busy – but also having fun! Awesome :) that breakfast and magazine combo looks fantastic and super relaxing. I just had some strawberries with cottage cheese, yum! I love feeling sore for awhile after workouts, definitely the best. “hurts so good” right?

    • I’m totally addicted to Coach’s Oats + Cottage cheese… and soon need to pick up another bag of coach’s oats. almost out! You look like you had a great weekend, too! ;)

Love the workout after burn. It let me know I did a good job.

  6. Sounds like a great weekend! Nice shoes too :) I always prepare my meals in advance (the one’s I have to take with me!), that way I’m never stuck! :)

  7. When I know I’m going to have an insane week I try to plan ahead as much as possible like you do and prep as many lunches and dinners as I can on the weekend…It definitely helps me avoid quick take-out food…90% of the time. What can I say, I have a soft spot for Thai food. ;)

P.S. *Love* the new pink Nikes!

  8. Love those pink nike frees! I almost got those but ended up getting white ones with blue and bright pink accent colors :) . I just always try to have healthy foods in my pantry and fridge so that I don’t have the option to eat poorly

    • I don’t know what’s gotten into me. I never liked pink until I started working out.
That’s a great tip, Lindsay. I try to keep my pantry stocked healthy and my husband keeps slipping stuff in there. LOL.
