Conclusion

I am a certified blog reader. You see only about 1/1000 of the of the healthy living blogs I read are listed on this post (I read a copious amount that would put you all to shame). ;)

I thought it to be fun to the list of blogs that start my day. And I want to hear…

What blogs do you start your day with? Feel free to share a few links in the comment section below.

  1. I could probably put your list to shame Ha! I love reading all sorts of blogs, but healthy living blogs are my favorite!!!
    Jen@FoodFamilyFitness recently posted..Success

  2. I have always wanted to do a feature like this on my blog – just haven’t had time!! Great choices, I already read most of these. Carrots n Cake, RER, and KERF were two of my very first blog finds!
Caitlin recently posted..Planned and Spontaneous Wine Tastings

  3. I also love Caitlyn over at The Healthy Tipping Point.
Christine @ BookishlyB recently posted..My Best (and Worst) Of 2011

  4. Thanks for the feature! I kinda feel like I just won a high school superlative or something (which I totally didn’t get in hs!) haha ;)
There are so many good blogs out there. My reader is insane. On days when I can’t stay on top of it, I get stressed out by the amount of “unread” items starring at me! Going to check out some of these that I haven’t seen before!
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen recently posted..Nutcracker cookies & lessons in falafel

    • And the award goes to…. ;) All those yummy super delicious fun to look at food of yours. The title of your blog fits well.
As for my reader…. I don’t even use it. I have my blogs in the morn, then I catch the stream on Twitter and FB and stroll from there. I should actually count how many I read a day. LOL. Happy Holidays, Gina!

  5. Well, sadly (or maybe not) I start the day with my own blog because there is always work to do. I have no idea how all those clever bloggers listed above have time to make their sites look so lovely. But after I get through my blog stuff, there are a few I read. Some are research results, as I do a lot with fitness research; some are just ones I enjoy by various friends I’ve met on Twitter! Thanks for sharing this list – they all look great and I can’t wait to check out the ones I wasn’t yet familiar with.

    • Haha. I hit my blog later so I can answer comments, write blogs post, delete spam, etc… But I tend to read a lot of blogs so I can find the best content for my link ups. There are so many blogs out there who have great content, but just need a bit of love to be found.

Have fun checking out the ones you are not familiar with. Happy Holidays to you and your sister.

  6. Thanks so much Christine!!

  7. I think there are waaayyyy better blogs than some of the ones you listed. I do like run eat repeat, but I find most of the HLB blogs kinda boring and more about the authors day to day life than healthy living.
Just because a blog has more readers doesn’t make it better. In fact, many of these full time bloggers are a little lazy with the effort they put into their posts. A bowl of oatmeal in a jar and a bunch of exclaimation marks.. I am surprised they have so many readers, I think people just read and comment on them to get links back to their own post.

    • There may be, but they are the top 10 I like to wake up to.
You are right, blogs are more of a personal agenda/journey. I enjoy seeing people enhance their lives with healthy deliciousness and physical activity. And hopefully that activity will spread to others. ;)
And yes, there are a lot of blog posts that deserve more attention as their reader base may not there. I hope that when I do link posts, it helps some bloggers out there to be seen.

You might be surprised by the amount of time it can take to edit, upload and arrange pics for a post. Its not always quick. Perhaps its not your cup tea. Of course, all cannot be pleased with one blog, you are right.
And you might be right about link love.
However I enjoy seeing the daily deliciousness by a bowl of oatmeal or a sandwich full of veggies. Inspires me to keep eating right.

Perhaps, blogs are not your thing? Maybe the great articles at Shape, Runner’s World, More, or Oxygen Magazine.
You do say there are way better blogs out there… but you did not share. Would love to know some of the ones you like to frequent. Always good to add new reads to my collection.
      Happy Holidays, Monica.

  11. I also like KERF for real food inspiration. It takes time to put a blog post together, so I appreciate her efforts. You’ve also shown me some new sites and I can’t wait to make them a part of my daily roundup. Thank goodness for RSS feeds.

  16. I follow a lot of the same blogs as you listed. There are SOOOOO many and my preference changes every few months depending at where I’m at in my life.
