Foodie PenPal Reveal – Heart Healthy!

I love my foodie penpal package!

The beautiful Nicole from Apples and Arteries sent me a total heart healthy package.

I am so jazzed to have received wheat berries. Because I have been wanting to try these for a long time, but have never gotten around to it. Now, I have no excuse.

And I ♥♥♥ cinnamon and Kashi! Perfect accompaniment to the hot blueberry tea in the morning (Nicole, you really know how to pack an awesome healthy box).

And there is some heart healthy flax seeds. A bit of sweet (but full of antioxidants) dark chocolate.

And this blueberry roobios tea smells so freakin’ good! Nicole actually put the loose leaf tea in tea bags for me. So awesome! I love that homemade touch. I brought the tea to work because my friends and I totally drink hot tea through out the day. We all enjoyed a cup of hot blueberry roobios tea together.

I have to say, despite all the wonderful goodies, I really love the requirement for a hand written note. It’s like a vintage custom. LOL. Look at this beautiful scenery on this card! My new saying fits this box, “Awesome Sauce”.

Thank you, Nicole, for my heart healthy package! And I will be sure to let you know what I make with the awesome wheat berries!

Foodie PenPal details

And now it’s time for some details about Foodie Penpals. In case you’re a new reader, here’s a reminder of what the program is all about:

-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
-Foodie Penplas is open to US & Canadian residents. Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!

If you’re interested in participating for March, please send an email to me at theleangreenbean@gmail.com and include the following information:
-Your full name
-Your email address
-Your blog name/address
-Your twitter handle (if applicable)
-WHETHER YOU ARE A US RESIDENT OR CANADIAN RESIDENT. – this is SUPER important so you get on the right list!

You must submit your information by March 4th as pairings will be emailed on March 5th!

***PLEASE NOTE: if you send an email, you WILL GET A RESPONSE within 48 hours. If you don”t….please re-send your email or contact me via Twitter (@LeanGrnBeanBlog). Last month we had a few emails get lost as spam so we’re trying to avoid that!

    • Oh… s’mores. I learned this last summer camping, that if you set a log close to the fire pit and lay your graham cracker with the chocolate on top… it will slowly soften the chocolate. So that when your marshmallow is ready, everything will be all sticky gooey and good. ;)

(I am liking the wheat berries too. Will share soon).

  2. Wow! you got hooked up with some Bob’s Mill stuff! LUCKY! :)

    • I find that it makes shopping so much easier! Now to go check out the fun things you received. I wish I was participating next month, but I have such an issue making it to the post office in a timely manner. *sigh*

  6. I love this box! What a wonderful combination of goodies for you! This reminds me – I want to ask my foodie pen pal buddy to make my box heart healthy next month. :)

    • It was a fun box. And I love how these boxes always contain chocolate, too. I have a square bite size each night to satisfy my craving. And to think I never liked milk chocolate before. Always white chocolate. And not that much. Now I crave it all the time. That and oranges. Weird.

  7. I just signed up for foodie pen pals. I hope I get amazing goodies like you did!!!! How did you like the wheat berries?

  8. Congratulation!
You find the right guy that really fits in your heart. I learned facts on how to feel that guy for you is right.
