WIAW: Lesser Evil Krinkle Sticks

I find it’s really easy to eat healthy during the workdays. But come weekends it can be tough. Anyone have any remedies for this? Well, I think I found something that might help this issue. And I will explain more below. Here is to another fabulous What I Ate Wednesday hosted by the fab Jenn at Peas and Crayons.

There is this new restaurant that just opened up in my neighborhood, called the The Beach Sports Bar & Grill. It’s so yummy! With its Taco Tuesday: $1 tacos (choice of beef, chicken or shrimp) and $2 margaritas (potent), its hard to pass it up during the week. So my whole healthy eating is proving to be tough (now that its seeping past the weekends)! Least the margaritas come in a small glass (objects in the picture appear to bigger than they really are).

But since I am in this semi ‘cutting phase’ – meaning ABs are made in the kitchen, I want to wear a bikini in the summer and I am trying to eat lean, lean, lean – I eat pretty modestly during the work week. So, it kinda left me the calories available for tonight’s dinner. And I discovered this new snack that totally helps keep me on track!

Breakfast: Espresso-Chocolate Protein Smoothie (8oz cold coffee, 1 scoop Vega chocolate protein, 1/2 banana, and 1/4 C almond milk) << Monday, I spilled in my car before I got to enjoy (sucks). Yesterday, I fully enjoyed. Although, I am still working on the perfect mixture. ;) | Snack: low-fat cottage cheese + CSA strawberries + blueberries | ***Workout*** below | Lunch: chicken sliders (3) + roasted garlic broccoli & carrots | Snack: Lesser Evil Krinkle Veggie Sticks I found at Albertsons (Super YUM) | Dinner: Taco Tuesday at The Beach Sports Bar & Grill ($1 Tacos + $2 Margaritas) – Shrimp Taco (pictured), 1 beef, 1 chicken taco.

Lesser Evil Krinkle Veggie Sticks

I found those Krinkle Veggie Snacks at Albertson’s and they have 120 calories per 35 sticks! I can pronounce every thing in the ingredient list (all natural). And us girls in the office ate them up! Total guilt free snacking. Plus, you might still be able to score a free sample on their FB page: http://on.fb.me/GBKJ1e

Workout

I have been working it hard. As I only have 1 1/2 weeks left of Body for Life. I am hoping to post decent results to you all. Here was Monday’s workout:

It definitely left me feeling muscle soreness the day after! It’s sore, but I so look forward to it. A good sign I am working it as I should!

Tuesday’s workout was 30-minutes of Life Cycle (in a Fat Burning Heart Rate Zone) and 3 sets of 10 reps:

- Leg Press – Leg Curls – Leg Extensions – Rotary Calf – Calf Press – Hip Adductors – Hip Abbductors

And Me and You are about to do abdominal exercises as soon as I finish writing this. ;)

Abs exercises, peeps! Chop! Chop! Will only take you 5 – 10 minutes max. Summer is coming!

Question

How do you resist high-caloric temptation to continue eating towards your healthy goal?

  5. I just find myself snacking more on the weekends. Overall it adds up and that’s not good.

Good work on the abs, I’m working on getting in a few planks every day, so far so good.

    • Right?! Snacking can be evil. haha.

Thanks. I am glad planking only takes a min. Well… that as far as I can go. I think 1:23min is my best. how any one does 3-5 min is beyond me! or an 1 hour + like that world record guy did. insane!
