How did Shape Magazine know I was looking for female Crossfit inspiration? I just came across their article titled, 10 Seriously Fit Chicks of Crossfit – Strong and inspiring women to watch at the 2012 Crossfit Games. Annie Thorisdottir is always my fave to watch at the games. Here is some more information about Annie via an interview.

Interview with Annie Thorisdottir by Shakita:

Introduce yourself:
Annie Mist Thorisdottir.

How long have you being doing crossfit?
I started doing CrossFit 2 months prior to the CrossFit Games 2009

Have you been involved in some other sports before that?
I was in Gymnastics for about 8 years, then Ballet, Pole vaulting, Bootcamp and now CrossFit…

How did people around you accept the fact that you are doing crossfit? Did they take a jaundiced view of it?
I have gotten a lot of support around me, of course you always get to hear different opinions about CrossFit but none of them to bad… =)

Do you have a nutrition plan that you follow? If yes, do you meet disapproval from you friends? Or do they understand why you eat the way you do?
I try to eat healthy and little processed food, have a lot of high quality protein. I’m not strict paleo since I do eat dairy products (we have a lot of really clean dairy products here in Iceland) and some grains. My friends that train understand it and the others respect why I do it.

What does crossfit mean to you and did it change your life in some way?
It means a lot to me, I found something that I love and really enjoy doing. Definitely changed my life a lot in many ways.

You can catch the rest of the interview, here.

Breakfast

iced coffee

Morning started out with ice coffee. Little did I know, I should have ordered more to be amped up for a stressful day. Before that I did have a cup of Almond Joy coffee and toast smothered in the Earth Balance Coconut & Peanut Spread.

Sorry, ate it too fast to take a picture of it. But, I can tell you, it was good. ;)

Lunch

chicken gyro

This chicken Gyro sounded really good. But it was Not very good.

I scrapped off pretty much the whole top. I didn’t realize it was going to be smothered in cheese and then more cheese and then a huge dollup of yogurt sauce. Too much for me!
I pretty much at the bread, chicken, and a little yogurt sauce w/ tomatoes. But really was not impressed.

Only means I need to prep & pack my own lunches!

Snack

crunchy green beans

However, I did enjoy these Crunchy Green Beans I discovered in my grocery store.

crunchy green beans

Kind of addicting. Not sure why they added Fructose to the ingredients. But its not overpowering and remains at low levels.

But maybe I needed the fructose like I needed more ice coffee. Because the remainder of the day consisted of looking at cars and dealing with insurance companies. So Stressful! But I think we found the next Oatmeal mobile. Will show soon if I can finalize it today!

Question

Do you have a fave Fit Chick that inspires you? Someone posted on your fridge for daily inspiration? Or even a quote?
