Catching up on posts! I’ll keep it short.
The last two weeks of training are for tapering. Don’t do what I did, I didn’t run once during these two weeks.
Unfortunately, I’ve been going through some trying times that required me to be there. I doubted my ability to do the marathon. I didnt exactly train like one should for a marathon. And the issue beckoned for much of my attention.
My longest run was 14-miles. Ever.
But gosh darn it! This marathon journey means a LOT more to me than just a run. More on that in my next (marathon) recap.
So for the last two weeks, I carb loaded.
And continued to carb load!
And hydrated like a mad woman (I’ve never drank so much water in my life). Thanks to the many of you for that tip – hydrating to defy the potential ill effects of altitude.
Question: How would you carb load for a Marathon?
Disclosure: I’m not the iconic person to follow on how to train for a first marathon. This is my personal journey. And well… I gots lots to learn still. Haha. But confidence surely played in my favor. Thank you to the person who told me, “90% mental, 10% physical”. That was one of the things that did the trick!
