Adventurous Friday!

Happy Friday! We made it through the week! Wasn’t it a tough week? Between working out hard, working hard at work, and tending to the family… Whoosh can be tough! But, I’ll tell ya, last night’s dinner made it all better.

Still on this crazy Intuitive Eating kick. This one was SO.GOOD. Do I say that about all my dishes? Really, I think they keep going up on the satisfaction scale! Or its because I am really hungry from all this working out. And every time I take my first bite, it tastes like I struck gold.

It was supposed to be a Spinach Wrap, but the store was out of spinach wraps. So, I used a plain grande size tortilla and stuffed it Full of baby spinach. Served it with Jalapeño PopChips and a NewCastle beer. Okay, Okay… enough talking about my yummy dinner. You can find the recipe for the Mediterranean Hummus Wrap here.

Keeping things light – cuz its Friday!

This week’s adventures and things to check out:

  • Don’t forget to participate in Janetha’s Adventurous April and do something out of your norm.
  • I stumbled across an awesome weekly #ATQA twitter chat this week and found I will heading to the Land of Rovers and Outdoor adventure in Arizona. I won me admission to the Overland Expo. #RoadTrip!!!
  • I caught a tweet from Gina, of Running to the Kitchen, about some Great Balls of Yum {I want to make them all}.
  • I am LOVING the comments about how many of you are willing to slather mud all over your body and bake in the sun in the name of SPA.
  • Jennifer wants to have a man chisel that clay mud off her body and wants you to enter her Trader Joe’s Cookielicious giveaway.
  • I’ve been hitting the gym with a coworker. Having a gym buddy helps to keep me accountable and pushes my workout that much more. We’ve both been feeling serious DOMS and the runner she is – has me increasing my running endurance.
  • Lindsay did an awesome Tuesday Trainer that tied in Janetha’s Adventurous April into the routine by having participants ‘adventure’ and do something to get out of the comfort zone. Great idea!
  • I found a new-to-me blog: FamilyTrek.org – a family living a location independent lifestyle so they play in the name of adventure. But read this crazy story about how on this couple’s “first date” included surviving a fall from a 90-foot cliff.

Songs I Am Loving Right Now

A two hour commute is rather boring. But when a few songs come on the radio, I’m belting out the karaoke in the car.

What’s your favorite song?

Three Awesome Workouts I Pinned

I often pin workouts. So I can refer back to them when I need a good workout at home. For those days I just don’t feel like hitting the gym. Check em’ out. These links go to the original owner’s posts.

If the weather is gorgeous this weekend, I’m thinking about taking an adventure with a morning hike. Then it’s off to a friend’s birthday party. And the rest of the time… I am looking forward to being a homebody. Quiet time sounds A OK with me.

What are your adventurous plans for the weekend?

  1. You crack me up!!!! Thanks for mentioning my giveaway!

The song/video from Gotye is totally addicting! I love that song! My friend says, he doesn’t move his lips, look , he doesn’t move his lips. She said it was a stupid song, then she came into work yesterday and said “I hate you, because I now like that dam song”. Lol.

Oh, I have to try the Jalapeno Popchips, I haven’t had them yet!!

Have a great weekend, of and I want to make Gina’s balls too!! That sounded weird didn’t it?

    • haha. Heading off to bed I had the Selena Gomez song stuck in my head. As for Gotye, parts of that song remind me of Sting. I think that is why I like it so much.

The Jalapeno popchips are their new flavor. And my fave, at that. Have a great weekend Jennifer! Don’t worry, when I wrote the ‘great balls of yum’… it sounded just as funny. ;)

I am also obsessed with all three of those songs – but I actually prefer the Glee version of that last one (yeah, I’m a Gleek hahaha).

My absolute fave song right now is “Soldier” by Gavin DeGraw. So good!

Enjoy your Friday – and a big WAHOO on that upcoming road trip :)

  4. I am sitting in a classroom all weekend so that I can match my Fitness qualifications from the states in Canada. Yet another long, expensive process, but I love teaching group ex so much!

  5. AHHHHH! A music and hummus lover! Gotta love that :)
I’ve been adding a dollop of hummus w some greek yogurt & rice vinegar over my veggies – sooooo good!
Adventurous plans this weekend? Not really… I tend to rest… to recover from working to hard and working hard at working out :)

  6. Love those songs too but did you see the version of the Gotye song on Glee? I’ve been kind of listening to that on repeat all week. I’m questioning your judgement now that you have linked to a Selena Gomez song ;-)

    • “It’s been said and done
Every beautiful thought’s been already sung
And I guess right now here’s another one
So your melody will play on and on, with best of ‘em
You are beautiful, like a dream come alive, incredible
      A centerfold miracle, lyrical
      You’ve saved my life again
And I want you to know baby” ♫ ;)

i haven’t heard the Glee version. and I almost posted that one. I did want to see that episode. Okay, off to check it out. ;)
